Who Are We

Martin Tower

Martin Tower was born and raised in Western New York to a family with deep agricultural roots. As a young man, he worked in his grandfather's nursery, where he developed a life-long relationship with plants. After earning a degree in the physical sciences from Clarkson University, he was commissioned into the U.S. Army as an aviator. Martin's military service took him overseas, marking the first of many far-reaching journeys to come.

His post-service travels have since taken him to every continent except Antarctica, living in seven different countries for extended periods in each. These experiences have allowed him to absorb different cultures and learn about local health and healing practices, going as far as having opportunities to learn directly from some traditional healers.

Martin has also had a strong interest in health and nutrition since his early 20s. He has used his acquired knowledge as a competitive athlete, trainer, and early entrepreneur in the health food sector.

In the mid-2010s, a family health crisis compelled him to dive even deeper into the study of illness and chronic disease. Then, when a close friend subsequently passed from an aggressive form of cancer, he quit his job and moved to India. He spent a significant period of time in Mysore where he studied Ashtanga yoga, Ayurveda, meditation, and homeopathy. There he became immersed in an ancient culture of plant-based health and adopted a vegetarian lifestyle. Through a mutual friend in this active Ayurvedic community, he was introduced to two prominent research scientists. The idea for Dendera was thus born.

Martin is passionate about living a healthy and pure lifestyle, full of cooking, nature, conservation, and animals. When he's not busy as an agent of change, he can most often be found in a forest wherever he may happen to be.
